Management

The Oasis senior management team has extensive expertise in the oil and gas industry with an average of more than 25 years of industry experience, including experience in multiple North American resource plays as well as experience in international basins. The Oasis management and technical team is a principal competitive strength relative to industry peers due to the team’s proven track record in identification, acquisition and execution of resource conversion opportunities.

Daniel Brown serves as our Chief Executive Officer and Board Member. Mr. Brown has 23 years of experience in the oil and natural gas industry having spent his career with Anadarko Petroleum Corporation, or one of its predecessors, until Anadarko was acquired by Occidental Petroleum in August 2019.  From October 2017 to August 2019, Mr. Brown served as Anadarko’s Executive Vice President, U.S. Onshore Operations.  Prior to that position, he served as Executive Vice President, International and Deepwater Operations beginning in May 2017; Senior Vice President, International and Deepwater Operations beginning in August 2016; Vice President, Operations (Southern and Appalachia) beginning in August 2013; and Vice President, Corporate Planning beginning in May 2013. Mr. Brown joined Anadarko in August 2006 upon the acquisition of Kerr-McGee Corporation, where he began his career.  In addition to those positions mentioned above, Mr. Brown held positions of increasing responsibility with Anadarko and Kerr-McGee throughout his career in U.S. onshore and Gulf of Mexico segments, as well as internationally.  Mr. Brown was also a director of Western Gas Equity Partners, LP (NYSE: WGP) and Western Gas Partners, LP (NYSE: WES) from November 2017 to February 2019.  After the February 2019 simplification of those two MLPs, he served on the board of Western Midstream Partners, LP (NYSE: WES) until August 2019, when the Anadarko-Occidental transaction was completed.  Since January 2020, Mr. Brown has served on the board of the private equity-backed exploration and production company, Beacon Offshore Energy LLC, which is focused on the deepwater Gulf of Mexico. Mr. Brown is a registered Professional Engineer in the state of Texas and serves on the board of Junior Achievement of Southeast Texas.  Mr. Brown holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M University and an MBA from Rice University, where he was a Jones Scholar Award recipient.

Taylor L. Reid has served as our President and Chief Operating Officer since January 2014. Mr. Reid previously served as Director, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer (or in similar capacities) since our inception in March 2007 and has 36 years of experience in the oil and gas industry. From November 2006 to February 2007, Mr. Reid helped form the business plan for Oasis Petroleum LLC and secure funding for the company. He previously served as Asset Manager Permian and Panhandle Operations with ConocoPhillips from April 2006 to October 2006. Prior to joining ConocoPhillips, he served as General Manager Latin America and Asia Operations with Burlington from March 2004 to March 2006 and as General Manager Corporate Acquisitions and Divestitures from July 1998 to February 2004. From March 1986 to June 1998, Mr. Reid held various operations and managerial positions with Burlington in several regions of the continental United States, including the Permian Basin, the Williston Basin and the Anadarko Basin. He was instrumental in Burlington’s expansion into the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin from 1999 to 2002. Mr. Reid holds a Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering from Stanford University.

Michael H. Lou has served as our Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice President since August 2011. Mr. Lou served as our Senior Vice President Finance (or similar capacities) from September 2009 to August 2011 and has 24 years of experience in the oil and gas industry. Prior to joining us, Mr. Lou was an independent contractor from January 2009 to August 2009. From February 2008 to December 2008, he served as the Chief Financial Officer of Giant Energy Ltd., a private oil and gas management company, from July 2006 to December 2008 he served as Chief Financial Officer of XXL Energy Corp., a publicly listed Canadian oil and gas company, and from August 2008 to December 2008, he served as Vice President Finance of Warrior Energy N.V., a publicly listed Canadian oil and gas company. From October 2005 to July 2006, Mr. Lou was a Director for Macquarie Investment Bank. Prior to joining Macquarie, Mr. Lou was a Vice President for First Albany Investment Banking from 2004 to 2006. From 1999 to 2004, Mr. Lou held positions of increasing responsibility, most recently as a Vice President, for Bank of America’s investment banking group. From 1997 to 1999, Mr. Lou was an analyst for Merrill Lynch’s investment banking group. Mr. Lou holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Southern Methodist University.

Nickolas J. Lorentzatos has served as our Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary since January 1, 2014. Mr. Lorentzatos served as our Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary from September 2010 to December 31, 2013, and has over 21 years of experience in the oil and gas industry and over 26 years practicing law. He previously served as Senior Counsel with Targa Resources from July 2007 to September 2010. From April 2006 to July 2007, he served as Senior Counsel to ConocoPhillips. Prior to the merger of Burlington Resources Inc. and ConocoPhillips which became effective in 2006, he served as Counsel and Senior Counsel to Burlington since August 1999. From September 1995 to August 1999, he was an associate with Bracewell & Patterson, LLP. Mr. Lorentzatos holds a Bachelor of Arts from Washington and Lee University, a Juris Doctor from the University of Houston, and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Texas at Austin.

Greg E. Hills has served as our Senior Vice President Marketing and Midstream since January 2014. Previously. Mr. Hills served as Vice President Marketing since September 2010 and has 33 years of experience in the oil and gas industry. From 2006 to 2010, Mr. Hills was an independent consultant to the oil and gas industry and had an engagement with Oasis from early 2010 until starting full time in September. He previously served as Finance Director at Burlington Resources from the period of January 2003 to April 2006, when Burlington was acquired by Conoco Phillips. Mr. Hills held various Marketing positions at Burlington Resources beginning in October 1994 through December 2002 including Marketing Director with responsibilities including Gas Supply, Sales, Business Development, International Marketing, and Marketing Acquisitions and Divestitures. Prior to joining Burlington, Mr. Hills worked for Delhi Gas Pipeline from February 1985 to September 1994 in the operations, engineering and gas supply departments. Mr. Hills has worked in several major regions in North America and Internationally, including the San Juan Basin, Permian Basin, Anadarko Basin, East Texas Basin and the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin along with international experience in the United Kingdom, Algeria and China. Mr. Hills holds a Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin and is a registered Professional Engineer in Texas.

H. Brett Newton has served as our Senior Vice President and Chief Engineer (or in similar capacities) since October 2007 and has 32 years of experience in the oil and gas industry. He previously served as Business Development and Partner Operations Manager Algeria with ConocoPhillips from April 2006 to September 2007. Prior to joining ConocoPhillips, Mr. Newton was Asset Manager North Africa with Burlington from May 2004 to March 2006 and held various engineering positions with Burlington from June 1994 to April 2004. Prior to joining Burlington, Mr. Newton worked for Chevron from January 1992 to June 1994. Mr. Newton has worked projects in several regions of the world, including the Berkine Basin (Algeria), the Permian Basin, the Green River Basin and the Williston Basin. Mr. Newton holds a Bachelor of Science from Texas A&M University and a Master of Science from the University of Texas at Austin, both in Petroleum Engineering.
 
Richard N. Robuck has served as our Senior Vice President Finance and Treasurer since January 2017. Previously, Mr. Robuck served as Vice President Finance and Treasurer (or similar capacities) since January 2014 and as Director Finance (or similar capacities) since April 2010. Mr. Robuck began his career 22 years ago in the oil and gas industry at Bank of America in their Energy Group. Prior to joining Oasis, Mr. Robuck was VP- Finance and Investments at Southern Ute Alternative Energy from October 2008 until April 2010. From April 2005 to October 2008, he served as the VP- Finance at Grande Communications, a private telecommunications company in Austin, Texas. In this role, Mr. Robuck managed capital market, investor relations, strategic planning and analysis, and corporate development activities. From July 2001 to April 2005, he served in various financial capacities at Grande Communications. Mr. Robuck holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from The University of Texas at Austin and a Master of Business Administration from Rice University.
 
Lara Kroll has served as our Vice President Accounting and Controller since January 2017. Previously, Ms. Kroll served as our Controller since June 2015, as our Assistant Controller since October 2011 and as our Manager of Financial Reporting and Internal Controls since joining Oasis in January 2010. Ms. Kroll has over 21 years of experience in the oil and gas industry. Prior to joining Oasis, Ms. Kroll held positions of increasing responsibility with PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP in their Houston audit practice, working with numerous clients in the energy sector handling SEC filings, financial reporting, internal controls and Board reporting. Ms. Kroll holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Purdue University.
 
Jason Swaren has served as our Vice President Operations since January 2015. Previously, Mr. Swaren served as General Manager (or similar capacities) since April 2012. Prior to joining Oasis, Mr. Swaren held various positions at Schlumberger for approximately 24 years. Some of the positions and accomplishments include: North America Pressure Pumping Supply Chain Manager, North America Coiled Tubing Manager managing 19 coiled tubing districts from Alaska to offshore east coast of Canada to Gulf of Mexico to California, Country Manager Qatar where he grew the business from 13 employees to 170 employees in less than two years and Field Service Manager in Alice, Texas where the highest pressure coiled tubing job in the world was performed. Mr. Swaren holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Calgary.
 

Alex Wall has served as Vice President, Business Development at Oasis since February 2019.  Previously, Mr. Wall served as Managing Director, Business Development (or in a similar capacity) since joining Oasis in September 2015.  From July 2010 to August 2015, he served in positions of increasing responsibility at Rosetta Resources with his final being Director of Strategy.  From August 2005 to July 2010, he held various positions for Royal Bank of Canada’s Energy Investment Banking Group.  He began his career at Bechtel Corporation where he held various construction engineering positions.  Mr. Wall holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Texas at Austin.
